Synopsis

During the reign of Emperor Wu of the Tang Dynasty, a scholar named Tang Ao passed the imperial examination and was awarded third place. However, he was falsely accused of forming a sworn brotherhood with Xu Jingye, and his title was subsequently revoked. Depressed, he accepted an invitation from his brother-in-law, Lin Zhiyang, to join a fleet on a business voyage and tour the four seas. They visited countries with unique folk customs, such as the Land of Gentlemen, the Land of Daughters, the Land of Giants, the Land of Two-Faced People and others. Along the way, they encountered many exciting and interesting adventures.
