But Kosame finds keeping Appare out of trouble to be a challenge.
2In the Dark2020-04-1724 minStranded in Los Angeles, Appare and Kosame must find work in order to survive, but their options are limited. The pair learn of a trans-continental auto race being held soon, and Appare sets his mind to winning it, while Kosame is anxious to get home.

After a certain mishap, the brilliant but socially inept engineer Apare Sorano and the shrewd but cowardly samurai Kosame Isshiki find themselves drifting on a boat from Japan to America. Broke, the two decide to compete in the Trans-America Wild Race to win the prize and return to Japan.
