That night Rukia visits Ichigo’s room and is surprised when she realizes she is visible to him. While they are conversing a Hollow appears and terorizes Ichigo’s family and household. Ichigo shows up and begins fighting with him. Orihime's brother is also struggling to gain control. Orihime is almost killed but her soul remains attached to her chain. Finally Orihime's brother gains control long enough to say one last goodbye to his sister before Ichigo sends his soul off to the Soul Society.4And Your Bird Can Speak2004-10-2625 minChad, Ichigo's classmate and friend, is given a cursed cockatiel. He brings the bird to school, along with a plethora of injuries to his large body. Sensing spirit energy in the bird, Rukia feels they need to perform a Konso on the cockatiel and help its soul pass on. That evening, an injured Chad is brought to Kurosaki Clinic. Ichigo and Rukia sense the presence of a dangerous Hollow emanating from Chad's wound. The following morning, Chad bolts from his hospital bed and is nowhere to be found.5Beat the Invisible Enemy!2004-11-0225 minRukia and Chad are fighting the Hollow who was hunting the young boy's soul. Chad cannot see the Hollow but he can sense it and attacks it. Rukia can see the Hollow, but since she still has none of her Soul Reaper powers her attacks have no effect. A little while into the fight Ichigo appears and starts fighting the Hollow. When Ichigo defeats this Hollow it is sent to Hell and not the Soul Society because the soul slayer can only cleanse sins after death not ones during life.6Fight to the Death! Ichigo vs. Ichigo2004-11-0925 minRukia purchases a temporary soul at Urahara’s store for Ichigo to use when she is not around and he needs to fight a Hollow. What Rukia does not realize is that what she purchased isn’t a normal temporary soul; it is a modified soul with special powers created by the Soul Society. When this modified soul takes Ichigo’s place it decides to have a little fun in Ichigo’s body and refuses to give it back to Ichigo.7Greetings from a Stuffed Toy2004-11-1625 minWhile Ichigo is fighting with the modified soul Rukia gets a message on her spirit phone about a nearby Hollow. Ichigo and the mod soul then defeat the Hollow together. Shortly after this happens Urahara removes the mod soul from Ichigo’s body. Instead of getting the mod soul destroyed Ichigo places it in a stuffed animal and gives it the name Kon.8●June 17, a Memory of Rainmixed2004-11-2325 minOn the anniversary of his mother’s death Ichigo and his family visit her grave. While he is there Ichigo remembers the day his mother died. Rukia is found by a Shinigami who asks her why she hasn’t returned to the soul society. Ichigo accidentally tells him that he is her substitute Shinigami; which happens to be a felony. Meanwhile Ichigo’s sisters are being attacked by a Hollow.9Unbeatable Enemy2004-11-3025 minIchigo finds out that the Hollow attacking his sisters is the same Hollow that killed his mother 5 years earlier. This Hollow is called the Grandfisher and has evaded the Shinigami for over 50 years. Because of the fact that this Hollow killed his mother to defend his pride Ichigo must fight it alone.10Assault on Trip at Sacred Ground!2004-12-0725 minDon Kan’onji, the star of a show that specializes in spirit exorcism, comes to Ichigo’s town to do a live show. Kan’onji thinks he is exorcising an earth bound spirit but instead he turns it in to a Hollow. Now he must rely on Ichigo help to defeat it.11The Legendary Quincy2004-12-1425 minRukia gets a message on her pager about a nearby Hollow. When Rukia and Ichigo arrive at the place the where Hollow was supposed to be they find out that it had already been defeated. This happens once again but this time shortly afterwards a man who calls himself a Qunicy confronts them. Rukia goes to the Urahara shop to learn more about what a Qunicy is. She learns that a Qunicy is a person that kills Hollows. But the way a Qunicy defeats a Hollow is different; they totally destroy a Hollow while a Shinigami only "cleanses" its soul.12A Gentle Right Arm2004-12-2125 minUuryu and Ichigo have a contest to see who can destroy the most Hollows after Uuryu releases his Hollow bait. Meanwhile Chad is being pursued by a Hollow because he has spiritual powers. He runs into Ichigo’s sister Karen and must protect her and her friends from the Hollow with his powerful right arm.13Flower and Hollow2004-12-2825 minOrihime and her friends are being attacked by a hollow who can shoot seeds that control people from its head. Orihime realizes that she has a spiritual power where she can control six small fairy like beings. She uses this power to defeat the hollow. Later Orihime and Chad are taken to Urahara Kisuke's store where they are told about Shinigami and Hollows. Meanwhile Uuryu is starting to believe that something larger is going on because his Hollow bait shouldn't have attracted so many Hollows.14Back to Back, A Fight to the Death!2005-01-1125 minRukia tells Ichigo why the Shinigami defeated the Quincy 200 years earlier. Ichigo confronts Uuryu with this knowledge while they are fighting the Hollows. This makes Uuryu remember how his Sensei died. While reminiscing Ichigo and Uuryu notice they are surrounded by Hollows and must work together to defeat them. While they are fighting Urahara and his friends show up and defeat the Hollows. Now Ichigo and Uuryu can concentrate on the Menos, a gigantic Hollow formed from hundreds of Hollows, which just appeared in the sky.15Kon’s Great Plan2005-01-1825 minKon's on a mission. The following morning, they prepare to set out in search of Kukaku Shiba who may hold the key to getting inside Soul Society. Although it sounds ridiculous, the entourage prepare to create a giant cannonball of spiritual energy. Now that they are ready to go, Yoruichi gives the group directions on what to do when they get to Soul Society. But Ichigo is totally spent from practice and falls asleep. Next to the sleeping Ichigo, Ganju feverishly practices the words that will control the Cannonball. He has decided to go to Soul Society with the group. And just before their departure, he explains the reason for his hatred of Soul Reapers.26Formation! The Worst Tag2005-04-0525 minThe Cannonball is launched, and Ichigo and company make it over Seireitai. But because Ichigo is unable to control his spiritual power, they become stuck within the shakonaku (Soul Shield Membrane). Ichigo and the others desperately try to collect their spiritual energy, but in that instant, the Cannonball explodes and everyone begins a descent towards Seireitei -- Ishida with Orihime, Chad, Yoriuchi, and finally, Ichigo with Ganju. Rukia is transferred to the Shishinro Repentence Cell to await her execution and it is becomes more imperative that Ichigo and his fellow Ryoka learn of her whereabouts soon. Ichigo and Ikkaku`s fight dramatically comes to a close; Ganju and Yumichika challenge each other`s tempers during their continued battle; and Uryu and Orihime find themselves trapped in a raucous chase by a group of Soul Reapers.28Orihime Targeted2005-04-1925 minForced to stay alert and on their toes. Ichigo and the others continue to be hunted by Soul Reapers. Uryu and Orihime struggle to outwit Squad 11`s Captain Zaraki and Lieutenant Yachiru in their ongoing chase, but end up in an even more threatening encounter with Jirobo, a towering Soul Reaper, who quickly identifies Uryu as a Quincy. Yumichika`s obsession with vanity is amplified as Ganju relentlessly tries to conquer him in battle. Their attempt to hold the weak and unappreciated Hanataro hostage fails when they learn that he is a member of the weakest squad. Meanwhile, Captain Kurotsuchi questions Ikkaku about the intruding Ryoka with no success. However, when Captain Zaraki arrives, Ikkaku`s tongue begins to loosen.30Renji’s Confrontation2005-05-0325 minHanataro leads Ichigo and Ganju toward the Repentance Cell where Rukia is being imprisoned using an underground network of sewage system passageways. Although they are skeptical about working under Don Kanonji`s leadership, they are excited about becoming television stars, known as "Karakura Superheroes."34Tragedy of Dawn2005-05-3125 minAfter word spreads of Renji`s defeat, an all-out war is declared on the Ryoka, allowing all Captains of the Seiretei permission to carry and release their zanpaku-tos. Ichigo and Ganju continue to receive healing treatments from Hanatoro until they are well enough to continue their journey to the White Tower. Meanwhile, Chad learns the whereabouts of Rukia and the White Tower and makes his own way toward the Senzaikyu, unaware that he has been detected by Lieutenant Ise and Captain Kyoraku.36Zaraki Kenpachi, drawing close!2005-06-1425 minAs Ichigo, Ganju, and Hanataro make their way to the top of the Senzaikyu staircase, they sense an unprecedented, vast amount of unrecognizable spirit energy. The source of this spirit energy reveals itself as Kenpachi Zaraki, the captain of Squad 11, who Ichigo had been earlier warned of during his battle with Ikkaku Madarame.37The Reason for Fists2005-06-2125 minChad`s journey to the Senzaikyu is interrupted by the Captain of Squad 8, Shunsui Kyouraka. Kyouraka`s laid-back mentality and attempt to convince Chad to retreat irks Chad and tries his patience. As Chad starts to battle, he has flashbacks to the world of the living where he is reminded of his promise to Ichigo.38Driven into a Corner! Ichigo, still battling Captain Zaraki at the Senzaikyu, senses a loss of Chad`s Spirit Energy and fears for the worst. Ichigo grows angrier and more determined as his sense of responsibility for the rest of the Ryoka increases, leading him to stand up to Zaraki in battle...39Immortal Man2005-07-0525 minAfter being attacked by Captain Zaraki`s sword, while lying weak on the ground, Ichigo is greeted by a metaphysical version of his zanpaku-to, Zangetsu. Zangetsu takes Ichigo to develop his understanding about the nature of his zanpaku-to. When Ichigo calls a surprised Captain Zaraki into battle again, he has a renewed confidence in the strength of his fight.40The Shinigami Ganju Saw2005-07-1225 minIchigo and Captain Zaraki lie motionless on the ground after their battle. Zaraki admits defeat and remains alive just long enough to recount his meeting with Yachiru. Yoruichi finds Ichigo and takes him away for treatment. Ganju and Hanataro continue toward the White Tower to save Rukia. When they arrive in Rukia`s holding cell, Ganju realizes that Rukia is not who he expected her to be...41Reunion, Ichigo and Rukia2005-07-1925 minYoruichi`s true form is revealed, much to Ichigo`s surprise. Ichigo finds a mysterious mask that he remembered Hanatoro throwing into an underground tunnel. Sensing great Spirit Energy near the Repentance Cell, Ichigo defies Yoruichi`s orders and flees to assist Ganju and Hanatoro. Captain Kuchiki and Captain Ukitake are both surprised by Ichigo`s Captain-like level of Spirit Energy. Rukia is upset with Ichigo for coming to the Soul Society, but it does not sway Ichigo`s determination to save her...42Shunshin (God of Flash) Yoruichi, Dance!2005-07-2625 minYoruichi appears as Ichigo prepares to face Squad captains Kuchiki and Ukitake. In order to save Ichigo from a fool`s battle, Yoruichi pounds an anesthetic into Ichigo, rendering him unconscious. Yoruichi`s flash steps prevent the two of them from being struck by Kuchiki, and she promises to return in three days when Ichigo will be stronger. Meanwhile, Orihime decides that she and Uryu should disguise themselves as Soul Reapers to reach Rukia`s cell.43Vicious Shinigami2005-08-0225 minOrihime and Uryu, dressed as Soul Reapers, are met by members of Squad 12 who offer to help them, but Uryu quickly realizes that it is a trap. Squad 12`s Captain Kurotsuchi presents himself to Orihime and Uryu, criticizing Uryu as a Quincy who has no chance of winning this fight. Uryu orders one of the remaining members of Squad 11 in the area to take Orihime and run away, acknowledging the fact that Kurotusuchi is more interested in her than a mere Quincy. As their fight progresses, Kurotsuchi`s actions and words become increasingly more provocative and infuriating to Uryu.44Ishida, Extreme Limits of his Power!2005-08-0925 minUryu has taken it upon himself to avenge the humiliation of Soken Ishida, his Quincy master and grandfather, by continuing to relentlessly battle Captain Kurotsuchi. It is also at the Soul Reaper Academy where she first meets Captain Aizen, where he compliments her as a outstanding student among her classmates.47Those Who Take Revenge2005-08-3025 minMomo, Renji and Kira have all escaped from their cells. Momo, having read the letter that Captain Aizen left for her, believes that she understands the true reason behind Rukia and that she has identified Aizen`s killer. However, when faced with the presumed culprit, Momo weakens with confusion and the possibility of a faked letter becomes increasingly evident. Meanwhile, Ichigo completes Day 1 of his training under Yoruichi, and uncovers some interesting background information about Kisuke Urahara aka Mr. Hat and Clogs.48Hitsugaya, Howl!2005-09-0625 minRukia`s execution date is advanced to a final time on the following day. Toshiro wonders if the acquisition of the Sokyoku is actually the intent of Ichimaru. Renji Abarai joins Yoruichi and Ichigo on the same training ground, with the similar goal of attaining bankai. Renji brings with him news of the twenty-nine hour countdown to Rukia`s execution. In her holding cell, Rukia has a revealing dream that she understands as preparation of her strength and comprehension of the next day`s events.49Rukia’s Nightmare2005-09-1325 minWithin Rukia`s dream, she recalls the past which she spent training under Lieutenant Kaien and Captain Ukitake. The young Rukia admires the Lieutenant very much, and has a difficult time acknowledging what she must do after his body is taken over by a Hollow, set to attack the rest of her Squad members.50●Resurrected Lionfiller2005-09-2025 minIn the world of the living, Don Kanonji searches for a way to save his television show, as its ratings continue to plummet. He discovers Kon- the mod-spirit trapped inside the body of a stuffed animal- and decides to make Kon the mascot of his show. After naming Kon, "Karakura King", he is able to attract Yuzu, Jinta, and Ururu back to his cause, and they become Karakura Pink, Yellow, and Red: superheroes of Don Kanonji`s television show.51The Morning of the Execution2005-09-2725 minPreparations are underway for Rukia`s execution, when Ganju, Uryu, and Chad receive unannounced visitors to their prison cell. Kenpachi, Yumichika, Yachiru along with Orihime, break into the prison cell to assist the Ryoka in an escape. Once they are discovered by Captain Komamura, Captain Tosen, Lieutenant Iba, and Lieutenant Hisagi, Kenpachi is left to prove his strength once again.52Renji, Vow to his Soul! Having increased her power, Ritze now can control several Soul Reapers at a time. The punishment force Ritze controls begin fighting each other in front of Soi Fon. The poison has affected Soi Fon, and she is barely able to escape. Soul Reapers who were controlled by Ritze fight each other everywhere, causing a big disturbance in the Seireitei. Wounded during the fight against the Hollow, Rukia chooses the only option available to defeat the monster and passes her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. Now forced to act as a substitute until Rukia recovers, Ichigo hunts down the Hollows that plague his town.
